Spotlight: Carlos Moya Tennis Academy (video)

There is a reason Madrileños say, "De Madrid al cielo," or from Madrid to heaven. It's a popular saying that means the next best thing you will see after Madrid is heaven.
This European capital, the third-largest city in the European Union after London and Berlin, is also the capital of Spain.

Madrid is also a prime-time destination for athletes and sports fans alike. With 2 professional soccer teams, Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid, 2 top basketball clubs, and plenty of professional sports events, Madrid has something for everyone.

We could write a whole blog post on all of the wonderful things Madrid has to offer, but we want to highlight one in particular: the Carlos Moya Tennis Academy, our newest partner!

At the helm of the academy is Carlos Moya, former world #1 tennis player, and Roberto Carretero, also a former professional tennis player from Spain.

The SportCampTravel team had a chance to visit the academy recently. The Moya Academy is brand new and is very much a boutique academy. It is country club meets high-performance academy. They value quality over quantity, so you won't find a big commercial academy here. The training is personalized and the student to coach ratios are very small.

It is situated in a quiet suburb of Madrid, about 30 minutes away by bus, so it is very accessible. The club is gated and players have 24 hour security and chaperones. The academy has red clay courts as well as hard courts. Additionally, they have many padel courts where many professional padel players train daily.

We were extremely impressed with the housing! The residences where the players live was luxury and comfort at its finest! They are 3-story houses with several rooms and a private pool. The players have a single or double room with bathrooms, common kitchen with a fully stocked fridge, common areas, and even a friendly doggy (we had to include Rocco in our video!) The players even have a vegetable garden and fruit trees at their disposal! Everything from figs and pears, to tomatoes and squash, YUM! Check out our video above to see more about housing!

The food at the academy is also top-quality and players will eat in the restaurant of the club. The chefs can accommodate any diet requests, and players eat healthy meals prepared with fresh ingredients. When we visited, the outdoor seating was buzzing with club members and summer campers basking in the Spanish sunshine while enjoying their meals.

Overall we were very pleased with the Carlos Moya Tennis Academy and we look forward to cultivating a long-term relationship with them. The people that run the academy are all very dedicated to the sport and providing the best service possible to their clients. They strive for quality in everything they do, and we highly recommend the Carlos Moya Tennis Academy to players looking to take their game to the next level. The individual attention the players receive here is excellent, and they will have all of the tools they need to succeed. For more information or to sign-up, contact an agent and visit our website.
